“Help Your Child Succeed”
Once the pop singer Madonna was asked what she would teach her girl child about boys and Madonna’s reply was “I’ll teach her how to respect herself. Once she knows how to do that, everything else will fall in place for her life”. That’s what every parent wants to do – teach their child how to respect themselves so that they’ll have self-esteem, self-confidence and the ability to make great decisions when their parents are not standing right by their side.
We want our child to make the right decisions that are appropriate and truly understand their responsibility. Our school systems are not equipped to teach them this. They don’t teach about self-discipline, self-respect, self-confidence or self-esteem as they do not have time to do this. These are the important gifts you want to give to your child not only to make them a better human being but also to make you proud.
If you’re looking for something that will help in your pursuit to give these gifts to your child, one of the best things that you can do is let them be trained in Martial Arts. Martial Arts training teaches them many other qualities as well.
My name is Damian O’Flaherty and I’ve been a Martial Arts instructor for 22 years. I started my first club in 1989 and have achieved 2 black belts in the Korean Martial Arts of Taekwondo (6th Dan) and Hapkido (5th Dan) and also trained extensively in Karate and Jiu Jitsu. I am an International Referee, have been State Coach and State Coaching Director and have been a Team Coach on a number of National Teams. I have achieved several other accolades in my lifetime including working at the highest levels in Government Public Service. I am a qualified school teacher with a Degree in Education and Teaching and have taught across primary and high schools and also TAFE.
I’ve seen children coming in to our academy at the age of 4 and still training at the age of 18 as completely different and successful young people. I see how they start and how they become confident. I get feedback on a regular basis from parents that these young people can defend themselves against the bullies. They carry themselves in a way that the bullies stay away from. These children are focused and their grades improve. We have had some of our students winning medals for Australia at international tournaments including Commonwealth Championships and Youth Olympics.
If you’re looking to help your child get better grades, to help them handle themselves against bullies and be confident, or in the longer term to become better human beings through confidence, self-discipline, focus, a spirit to achieve things in life, self-esteem, self-respect, and taking responsibility then talk to us because we have programs that will be guaranteed to help achieve these things.
